Durga Puja is one of the largest Hindu festivals that involves worship of Goddess Durga symbolising power and triumph of good over evil in Hindu mythology. During Durga puja, differents sweets are served as an offering. This is a list of sweets that are made during Durga Puja.

1. Kheer Kadam

Kheer Kadam is an Indian and Bangladesh sweet. It is usually prepared during festivals like Durga puja. It is prepared with Khoa, milk chhana, sugar, saffron, coconut, lemon juice. The outer and inner part of the sweet is different. The texture is soft and tastes delicious

2. Kacha Golla

Kacha Golla is one kind of sweet prepared with milk, lemon juice, sugar, cardamom, condensed milk, milk powder. It is also called Pranhara, Dry rasgolla. This sweet is originated from Indian and Bangladesh. It is similar to rasgulla but it is the dried version with sugar syrup.

3. Rajbhog

Rajbhog sweet is very popular Bengali sweets which texture is very similar to Rasgulla except dry fruits stuffing into it. Rajbhog is prepared with chenna or paneer and combined with a mixture of dry fruits and saffron, Rajbhog is a sugar-dipped sweet. Additionally, the size of Rajbhog is typically bigger than other Bengali sweets and it was usually prepared for kings and during festivals. It is now served as an offering in puja.

4. Sandesh

Sandesh can be made with the use of chhena or cottage cheese. The simplest kind of sandesh in Bengal is the makha sandesh. It is prepared by tossing the chhena lightly with sugar over low heat. 5. Nolen Gurer Payesh

Nolen Gur is a special kind of jaggery that is available for only a few months in a year. Nolen gurer payesh is a special variant of payesh or kheer that is sweetened with jaggery in place of sugar. This pays is prepared mostly during the time of Durga puja. Again many Bengali people make it during wintertime.

6. Bhapa Doi

Bhapa Doi means steamed yoghurt in Bengali. Its texture is like cheesecake. It is made with greek yoghurt cheese, condensed milk, butter, cocoa powder, cardamom. This dish becomes more tasteful with a garnishing of almonds and pistachios. It is best enjoyed chilled straight out of the refrigerator.
