There are tons of food in Indian cuisine. Most of the dishes are made with spices. Turmeric is one of the main spices that is used almost in every dish. Turmeric helps improve the health of people with type 2 diabetes. Indian cuisine is rich in carbohydrate which doctor usually recommend patients to take in their diet. Here is a list of Indian foods that diabetic patients can take.

1. Moong Dal

Moong Dal Tadka is a simple Indian dish made from yellow moong lentils cooked with a tempering made of onion, tomato and spices. Moong dal is a simple yet comforting, easily digestible and healthy dish. In fact, the same lentil is many times also used to make khichdi, which is considered to be one of the most nutritious and easily digestible dishes

2. Besan Cheela

Besan Cheela is spiced pancakes made from gram flour (besan) mixed with onion, tomato, coriander and various spices. Besan Cheela is quite delicious and can be made quickly because of very few simple ingredients. It can be made as a quick evening snack, a light dinner or as a fulfilling and healthy breakfast.

Panchmel Dal, also known as Pancharatan Dal is a lentil stew made my mixing together five different types of lentils along with a spicy tempering. This wholesome dal dish stands out in aroma and taste owing to the combined flavour of different Dals (lentils) cooked together along with Indian spices. Panchmel dal is a traditional Rajasthani dish which accompanies Bati and Churma and together the combination goes by the name ‘Dal Bati Churma’

4. Palak Kadhi

Palak Kadhi is an Indian main course dish made with fresh spinach leaves cooked with curd and besan (gram flour) curry. It is flavoured with Indian spices and tempered with fried garlic & red chilis. Traditionally Kadhi is a dish consisting of a thick gravy based on besan (chickpea flour) and often contains vegetable fritters called pakoras. Palak Kadhi uses freshly cut spinach leaves instead of fritters.

Sorakkai Sambar also known as Bottle Gourd Sambar or Lauki Sambar is a very tasty and healthy Sambar made with Arhar Dal (Pigeon Peas) and Lauki (Bottle Gourd).
