1. Mooncake

Yuebing, 月餅 (Chinese) (Taiwanese)

It is normally eaten during the Moon Festival, one of the most popular celebrations in China and Taiwan. Moon Cakes are round pastries, with a thin crust and different kind of fillings. Most mooncakes consist of a thin, tender pastry skin enveloping a sweet, dense filling, and may contain one or more whole salted egg yolks in their center as the symbol of the full moon. Very rarely, mooncakes are also served steamed or fried. Often they are decorated with Chinese characters.
