Haupia is a traditional coconut milk-based Hawaiian dessert often found at luaus and other local gatherings in Hawaii. It is traditionally made with coconut milk and pia (Polynesian arrowroot), but today's haupia is usually made with cornstarch as a thickener instead of pia.
